Recycled items, wacky costumes, and embellished cars. I had a blast at Houston’s annual Art Car Parade this past weekend! From recycled plastic to old suitcases, lots of spoons, an even a port-o-poty, creative modes of transportation we’re rolling down Allen Parkway with colorful drivers and passengers. The parade had over 200 cars and the street was filled with a diverse group of people celebrating creativity. If you have the opportunity to go, then you should definitely check it out…. it’s a vibrant visual experience. Maybe next year I can convince my dad to enter?

Running the roads!
I was feeling sassy this weekend so I put on my high-waisted shorts and accessorized with some STELLAR TREASURES!! This dimensional copper road runner pendant necklace is for sale at my shop, it is in it’s original vintage condition and signed “Copper Bell” - $38
This black patent shoulder bag treated me just right for a night out. It has an additional side pocket and it added just the right amount of shine to my look. This little gem is only $11!
Visit my shop, Stellar Treasure, which is located inside The Tattered Suitcase (Calder & 10th, Old Town, Beaumont) for a peek at my other new items.

I recently did a piece on scarves for the current issue of cat5 Magazine, so I thought I’d share how I wore a scarf with pieces from my closet. For me, a busy day of fittings calls for something comfortable without compromising my personal aesthetic. I only had a few minutes to get dressed so I jazzed up a tunic and leggings by tying a colorful scarf around my waist and then threw on a pair of heeled cowboy boots. A productive day deserves a treat, so later that evening I met some friends for a drink on the patio. I quickly refined my look by swapping the sash for a metal belt, wearing the scarf around my head and adding a pop of color to my lips. I traded the boots out for my go-to metallic flats that are easy on the feet and add a sheen to my look. I love scarves… read my recently published piece HERE.
I bought the dyed scarf from Michael Snowden at BAL’s Bizarre Bazaar and the earrings came from the Green Flea in Houston from caricature artist, Bonnie Blue.
View Larger RENEGADE REVIVAL at Burns Antik Haus was a delightful and delicious time! The weather was perfect, the craft beer was flown’ and it was the perfect occasion to don delicate gloves, pearls and rhinestones, and a fancy hat! We had a REcreate dress up station, which was a lot of fun and we met quite a few new faces. And of course, the Bánh Mon sandwiches were outta this world good. GETCHA ONE!
Here is a video from Preservation Celebration!

My shop, Stellar Treasure, had it’s first vintage show this weekend at Preservation Celebration, which is an annual event hosted by the historic McFaddin-Ward House. It was a lovely afternoon filled with sweet music, delicious eats, friendly faces and of course, a great view of the Carriage House.

We were also there REcreating! We’re gearing up for our phenomenal summer event on 7/7/12 so you can expect to see us out and about over the next couple months promoting REcreate 2012 and spreading the idea that is REcreate.

View Larger For nearly the past year, Grace Mathis and I having been teaming up to coordinate and style photo shoots for VIP Magazine. For the April issue of VIP, we had the opportunity to style AND model some spring fashions that we’re inspired by a of our few favorite flowers. We worked with the very creative J. Scott, florist, who created the WONDERFUL flower props that we modeled. Check out the spread to see how all of our interpretations came together on the pages. VIP is on newsstands now, and you can view it digitally here. If you have an upcoming event and you want some extra flair, I highly suggest you visit J. Scott, he can create a custom floral accessory that will provide a fresh, chic finish to your special look.

I had the pleasure of working with Photographer Randy Edwards, iamrandyedwards.com for a fun shoot last month. I had a few precious pieces and newly acquired gems that I wanted to wear and who better to capture it than someone with a wonderful, unique perspective.
Check out the rest of the photos from the shoot HERE. Also, we recently worked together on this commissioned project.
